Abolanle Olamide was born first generation, raised on the south-side of Chicago, IL, by parents of Nigerian descent. Her passion and enthusiastic nature for hair began at the tender age of eight years old, in her mother’s beauty salon. She’s always had a creative and artistic mind. Her fascination with every bend, curve, loops, colors, and precision led her to began practicing on mannequins, replicating what she witnessed while constantly being around hair.

While studying Human Nutrition + Dietetics in college, she ran a hair business in her home. She graduated with her bachelors, worked in the medical field, while still doing hair on the side. Every time she’d try leaving hair alone, it always found its way back to her. Fast forward to 2015, she relocated to Los Angeles, CA and the rest is history!

Throughout the years, her love for hair has evolved. Abolanle Olamide has worked on television + film sets, editorial shoots, prepared clients hair for Emmy Awards and BET Awards. She’s worked with Solange Knowles, Justine Skye, Ashley Blaine Featherson-Jenkins, Stephanie Ike-Okafor, and more! She always finds ways to think outside the box and bring hair visions to life.
